The Uganda Equator- Equator in Uganda

The Uganda Equator

The Uganda Equator

The Uganda Equator- Equator in Uganda is an imaginary line around the middle of a planet or other celestial body. It is halfway between the North Pole and the South Pole, at 0 degrees latitude. The Equator has a rather stable daytime temperature throughout the year. On the equinoxes (approximately March 20 and September 23) the subsolar point crosses Earth’s equator at a shallow angle, sunlight shines perpendicular to Earth’s axis of rotation, and all latitudes have nearly a 12-hour day and 12-hour night.[2].

Uganda is one of the few countries around the world where the Equator runs through it. The Equator is located in Kayabwe, Mpigi District approximately 72 kilometres from Kampala city, while driving south west of Kampala. Uganda is 86.37 mi (138.99 km) north of the equator, so it is located in the northern hemisphere.

One of the unique experience you shouldn’t miss in Uganda is visiting the Equator. While tourists head to western national parks like Queen Elizabeth National Park, Lake Mburo national Park, Bwindi impenetrable national park, Mgahinga Gorilla national park and Lake Bunyonyi, have en-route stover at the equator. As well those returning from long trips of the above national parks get a stopover as they relax, take some photos and enjoying of the exciting activities at the equator including; balance an egg on the nail at the intiman solar museum and many others

Uganda Equator is a best place full of fun and excitement as you take photo shoot and get amazed with great viewing of craft shops. You should not miss out taking photos while standing on the equator with your own two legs but on separate hemispheres of the world.

Lighter weight

The shocking fact is that you’re almost 4% lighter at the equator line. While at the Uganda Equator, your weight will be less by 0.5% because the gravity at the line is 0.5%. this relates to the fact that the earth is not a perfect globule. It is believed that you’re probably some kilometres from the centre of the earth while standing on the equator and surprisingly it is not the case when you stand on the poles. Because of this, gravity is slightly low at the equator because it drops with distance.

Water experiments at the equator

The movement and drainage of the equator water differs from the Northern and the southern hemispheres at the Equator line, in the demonstration of the carioles effect. While in the northern hemisphere, the water will drain down the hole in a clockwise direction. Water will drain in the counter clockwise direction in the southern hemisphere.

With a movement that changes direction suddenly, something in motion to the left or right when moving on a rotating body like the earth. In some cases pressure weather cyclonical systems perform this, having a clockwise rotation in the north and a counterclockwise in the southern hemisphere

In a nut shell,  today the Uganda Equator has become a land mark of tourist destination because of its outstanding facts about it. Did know that the sun rises and falls at a shorter interval while at the equator, as we compare it to other parts of the world. the surrounding areas of the equator experience warm climate yearly which rewards it to be a famous destination to explore and it does not vary on the right seasons to visit since it is a warm area through out.
